Reeling In The Months
An interesting thing has happened to me in the last few days. Last summer I began writing full time in this blog during my hiatus; as a way to keep in touch with distant family and the great people I meet during my six years at Parker Hannifin. It was also intended to give me an outlet to work on my nascent writing skills.
At the end of summer, in a mood best described as petulant, from having to return to work, I took the blog off-line, renamed it actually, because I didn’t want people to keep checking in and not seeing anything new. A move I now regret. But anyway, I have tried to pick up the thread again, and I have noticed something. I started going back through my entries for the summer, and it’s fantastic to have that journey written down. Reading about my summer, brings back so many memories and is a great way to re-experience what I felt and thought during those three months. I never kept a journal as a youngster, but to me the blog is better that a private notebook, because I shared it with people I care about, and that brings more to the memories, if that makes any sense.
So next November, when I become President of the United States of America, I will make a few changes. First, the obvious, a Starbucks will be installed in the White House. What rational human being would go out and rain down war and destruction on people while sipping a peppermint mochachino? Very few. And second, by Executive order number 2687, everyone has to keep a blog or a My Space page. Everybody share their feelings so that, as President, I might get to know you better. And trust me, you will read them one day and be glad you did. If not you will be have your coffee privileges severely limited.

Journals have always been my way of expressing my inner most thoughts and I find that blogging is harder for me BECAUSE others can read and comment. Thanks for sharing yours!
I wish you would write more, you have good stuff to say. I love hearing about your wonderful family, and your callenges at your nameless company.
